This video walks you through our meticulous process of restoring a hand-knotted Persian rug.
- The rug arrived with advanced dry rot damage.
- Step 1: We carefully cut out the entire affected area to halt further decay.
- Step 2: New warps and wefts were inserted, rebuilding the rug’s foundational structure.
- Step 3: Reweaving began, recreating the missing pattern knot by knot using over 5,000 Senneh knots.
- Step 4: The final step was trimming the new weave to seamlessly blend the repair with the original texture and design.
