Advanced Carpet Stain Removal Specialists in Hampshire, London & the South East

Struggling with a stubborn carpet stain?

Advanced Stain Removal begins where standard cleaning ends.

Everyday spills may respond to general carpet cleaning, but deeper, chemically bonded or brightly pigmented stains require a far more advanced approach - targeting the stain at a chemical level.

At Brio Carpet Care, we use specialist oxidisers, reducers, and WoolSafe Approved dye systems to fix the stains most cleaners walk away from.

As experts who teach these methods across the UK and internationally, we combine science, chemistry, hands-on experience, and precision to restore your carpets to their best condition.

Our Advanced Stain Removal Process (Step-by-Step)

1. Fibre & Chemical Assessment

We begin with pH testing and a detailed analysis of the carpet fibre and dye system. Protein stains, tannins, petroleum-based materials, dyes, and oils, all require different chemistry. Wool, nylon, polypropylene, viscose and silk behave differently under heat, pH changes and chemical exposure. This step determines the chemical nature of the stain and identifies which treatments are safe and effective.

2. Targeted Reactivity Testing

Before full application, we test how the stain reacts to oxidisers or reducers. This minimises fibre risk and ensures we choose the most effective chemical approach.

3. Controlled Chemical Treatment

We apply specialist chemistry to break down the stain at a molecular level:

  • Oxidisers for organic stains such as pet urine, blood, red wine, turmeric and food spills. These break down stain molecules chemically, with UV-assisted oxidation used when needed to accelerate the reaction.
  • Reducers such as sodium metabisulphite - and when required, sodium hydrosulphite - for pigment-based stains including  cosmetics, hair dye, fake tan, medications and colour bleeding. These treatments break chemical bonds that ordinary cleaning products cannot touch.

We precisely manage chemical concentration, dwell time, moisture, temperature and pH. This level of control ensures the reaction targets only the stain without affecting the surrounding carpet.

4. Neutralisation & pH Stabilisation

After successful stain removal, we neutralise the treated area and re-adjust the pH. This stops all chemical activity and removes any residue which could cause quick re-soiling.

5. Precision Colour Correction (If Needed)

Sometimes removing a deep or chemical stain also removes some of the carpet’s original colour. Most cleaners stop here - leaving a lighter patch behind.

We don’t.

We specialise in spot dyeing and colour repairs using our proprietary Brio Dyes (the only WoolSafe Approved dyes for carpet recolouring), so whenever needed, we can colour match to blend in faded spots.

This combination of stain removal and dye correction allows us to fix damage that would otherwise be permanent.

Frequently Asked Questions  about Advanced Carpet Stain Removal

  • Can all carpet stains be removed?

Not always - but far more stains can be corrected than most people realise. Even if a stain has bonded chemically or caused colour loss, we can often restore the area using advanced oxidisers, reducers or precision colour repair. We always give honest assessments before starting. If a stain isn't economically repairable, we'll tell you upfront with no obligation.

  • What types of stains can you remove?

We specialise in stains most cleaners cannot fix, including:
– Pet urine, vomit and biological stains
– Turmeric, cosmetics, fake tan and food colourings
– Hair dye, medication and chemical spills
– Dye transfer and colour bleeding
– Red wine, coffee and tea
– Rust, water marks, cellulosic browning
– Bleach damage and colour loss
If you're unsure whether we can help with your specific stain, send us a photo for a free assessment.

  • Will stain removal damage my carpet?

No. Our methods are fibre-specific and completely controlled. We analyse the carpet fibre and dye system before beginning, then apply chemistry with precise pH, heat and moisture management. DIY spotters and standard cleaners often cause more damage than the stain - our techniques are designed to avoid this entirely.

  • Do DIY stain removers make stains worse?

Unfortunately, yes. High-street spotters often contain oxidising agents that can bleach the fibres. Rubbing and scrubbing can cause permanent fibre distortion. If a stain doesn’t lift immediately with blotting, stop and contact a professional before making it worse.

  • What if stain removal also removes some carpet colour?

This can happen with certain stubborn stains types - and this is where we differ from standard carpet cleaners. If colour loss occurs during treatment, we simply restore it using our precision colour repair system with Brio Dyes. We match your carpet fibre by fibre so the repair blends in.

  • How long does the stain removal process take?

Most treatments take between one to several hours, depending on stain type, carpet fibre, chemistry required and whether colour repair is needed. Complex stains may require a follow-up visit. We can give an accurate estimate once we assess the stain.

  • What should I do immediately after a spill?

Blot (never rub) the area with a clean, white cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid DIY stain removers, vinegar, baking soda, or any coloured cloths - these can cause permanent damage or set the stain chemically. Contact us as soon as possible for tailored advice. Fresh spills are always easier to correct.

  • Do you remove pet urine stains and odours?

Yes. Pet urine can oxidise, cause yellowing and permanently alter carpet dyes. We treat both the staining and the odour at a molecular level using specialised chemistry that breaks down uric acid salts, residues and odour compounds completely.

  • Why choose Brio Carpet Care over a regular carpet cleaner?

We are advanced stain removal specialists - not general carpet cleaners. Gabriel Andreca is one of the UK’s few US Textile Pro Certified technicians and a WoolSafe Academy Trainer. We developed WoolSafe Approved dyes, teach advanced stain removal internationally and routinely correct stains other cleaners cannot treat. If it’s possible, we can do it.

  • Which areas do you serve for carpet stain removal?

We provide advanced carpet stain removal throughout Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Surrey, West Sussex, Dorset and London - including Winchester, Southampton, Basingstoke, Reading, Windsor, Salisbury, Guildford, Chichester and surrounding areas. Based just outside Winchester, we regularly serve high-end residential properties, hotels and commercial clients across the South East.
